FaMiLy

Staying with family has its ups and downs, like have NO privacy! :) On the upside my girls have 3 aunties and their yiayia (grandma) to watch them and play with them when mommy is worn out! I stay sane! So with Jeff being gone it is a raging house of just girls! ( maybe that is why he is gone a lot) but it is nice to have the company and help. I would say that we are all pretty close, we stick together and support each other through the hard times and laugh through the good times. I am very thankful for the sisters that I have been blessed with and a Mother who is one of my very best friends! Oh and I can't forget the best dog in the world! My Marley!

December Madness

So what a crazy end of the year it was for us. Very emotional needless to say and also very humbling. On top of financial stresses, we had a legal issue that we had to deal with and are still dealing with but mostly over thank GOODNESS! When I thought it couldn't get any worse..... I was very wrong. Jeff was put in the ICU for 4 days, the weekend before Christmas. It was more serious than I thought. Jeff was really sick for about 2 days and it wasn't until he completely passed out when I took him to the ER. Come to find out, Jeff was bleeding somewhere internally and needed to find out where all the blood was coming from. They did and endoscopy and found that he had a rather large ulcer that ruptured in his intestines. It had stopped bleeding on its own which is probably what saved his life. He had lost over half his body's volume of blood and needed over 4 bags of blood put back into his body. He was unstable for about 2 days and then slowly got the coloring back in his face and almost got rid of the old blood that was sitting in his stomach for who knows how long. They don't know what caused the ulcer but they think it was stressed related.
He was home for Christmas but still a little weak and is now back to his full functioning self. What a scare it was for our family. It was hard to see my husband so weak and vulnerable. It still hasn't hit me of how seriously wrong it could have gone. I am just so glad that we are now into a new year, starting fresh and very hopeful for the future. I am blessed with great friends and family, for the prayers that were said on the behalf of our family.
With the series of events that have happened in the past 3 months, we have been very humbled and was reminded of what truly was important.

Is is ever to late?

I have to admit that I have been horrible about blogging. I just get so overwhelmed not knowing what to share that I end up not sharing anything!!! Is it too late??? I have pictures from this summer that I have been wanting to post but now that we have moved on from that I feel I need to catch up on the present. It is a never ending vicious cycle. So I have made myself a promise, I am going to be a better "catching the moment with a camera" so I can start sharing the crazy life of the Jacobsen's!
So just a quick update we are back in Alpine enjoying the rest of the great weather while Isabella started her first year in preschool. It has been crazy since we have been home, friends to see, things to do and of course keeping up with all the babies that have been born! In fact my sister-in-law is having her baby tomorrow so we will have a new little nephew named Landon.
We miss our great friends that we made over the summer! It is so weird not seeing them all everyday but fun to catch up here and there.
From here on out I will make blogging more of a priority because I do have to admit it is fun seeing how everyone is doing. ( Britt I love that you keep me in line :) )

FaTheRs daY

Father's Day came early this year, something about Jeff and I is that we love to give our gifts early plus Jeff always figures out what I get him! Even though tomorrow we are going to celebrate Daddy Day the gifts just couldn't wait. So tomorrow our plan is to make a nice big breakfast because Jeff loves to eat like a KING. He likes a little bit of everything. He says he gets bored with just one thing and like to switch up the taste buds. lol He jokes about how he need to go to work just to support his eating habits.  Then we may hit the pool. For dinner we are going to go to Famous Dave's with our friends. So that is the plan we will see how is plays out and let you know tomorrow!

Dinner in St. Paul

Later this afternoon we went to St. Paul to go to Como Zoo but the traffic was horrendous and then the it was crazy packed that we didn't even go in. So we ended up going to The Shamrock, the best burgers I have ever eaten! So here we are 4 mom's and 7 kids! Oh yes I said 7 children. Something about Minnesota is that the people here are super nosy and rude and must not see younger moms because every time we go out anywhere with our kids people stare as if they were looking at a freak show! Grant it, it can be quite a circus at times but kids will be kids. We have a good time anyway, and it is always fun to go out with the girls!

OuR StoRy

Today my friend threatened me that my blog would get erased if I didn't start posting because my blog has been up and running for a full week but didn't have anything on it so Jessica this is for you....... :)
Jeff and I met 3 months after I moved away from Vegas in 97, through a friend that was dating his older brother.  Would I say it was love at first sight? No, it was more of an infatuation but what do you expect from a 15 year old! We would visit each other as much as we could throughout the years but then ended up going our separate ways for a long while. I suppose our hearts never quite parted because after a long overdue visit, we decided that something needed to be done about us living in different states! Jeff ended up moving to Utah and in 2005 we were married. I would have to say that 8 years is a long time to wait for your sweetheart! We have two beautiful girls named Isabella who is 3 and Olivia who will be 2 tomorrow. They are our joy in life and daddy sure likes to spoil them! ( love you babe)  Ok I guess I do to, but shopping for girls is so much fun!!!!
The place we hang our hat and call home is in Alpine Utah but as for the summer we are in Minneapolis with AMP alarm. This is Jeff''s second year and is doing fantastic so far! I obviously had to quit at the salon, with 2 kids and my hubby not being home during the summer well... family outweighed the career. I still do hair on the side but not as intensely. I do miss it but right now it is just not my main focus.
Minneapolis has been fun so far, we have a lot of people out here with kids so it has been great. We are enjoying one day at time, getting to know other families and spending as much time as we can with Jeff, oh wait that is only one day a week! It will be all worth it when the summer is over!
